Dear Vice-President Gore,

I am writing to ask you to promise to adopt measures to restore the Columbia and Snake Rivers to their natural condition in order to restore wild salmon. The practice of barging salmon around dams has failed and should be ended.

Partial removal of the four lower Snake River dams is scientifically and economically practical, cost-effective and is the only action that will comply with federal laws and treaties. Moreover, unless you take this action Snake River Salmon will become extinct. Your position is an important test of your stated commitment to a healthy environment and sustainable economy.
