Dear

Please support efforts to have the southern community of orca whales in Washington State listed as Endangered.

These animals are the most toxic marine mammals in the world and are suffering and dying in unprecedented numbers. A severe lack of fish in their habitat has forced them to utilize fat reserves and release the toxins stored in them. In just four years their numbers have dropped from 96 to 82 animals, and half of the maternal lineages are expected to die out. An Endangered listing would protect these whales until they have had time to reproduce and replenish their numbers.
